Ehud, Judge of Israel

*God will use any and all means at His disposal to accomplish His purposes
*God can use those who are yielded to His hand, even though they may not have the same degree of spirituality that others might possess
*It is not the ability or inability that matters in the things of God. He can give ability and is able to use whosoever He will

Forming new "community"

We joined forces with a great group of folks next door. They're quite a positive addition. Together we're forming something that's better than the sum of the parts. God is active.

We will:
Pray together
Love each other
Affection (give and display)
Yield to one another for the benefit
Of the group

We build community and character while we play together.

New opportunity for building community

We will be moving to a new location this coming Sunday. We will combine two classes and move to module 4. Join with me in welcoming the new group and new friends to be. I'm excited to see God build our fellowship.
What a trip yesterday! Chip Brown was kind enough to get us a tour of the facilities at Delta. It was great! Thank you so much Chip. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Oh yeah, we had some "get down" barbecue. Hit the spot. The girls spent the day at Dahlonega. Can't see how they could have had a better time than we did. When God creates the fellowship, it can't be beat. Check out the pictures.

LOYALTY

Today we covered Joshua 8-15. Our emphasis was on the loyalty of Caleb and how we ourselves can generate loyalty.

Caleb though an older man now at eighty-five was still ready, willing, and
able to fight alongside Joshua. He came before him to claim his promise, granted by Moses regarding territory in the promised land. Joshua set aside Hebron for him.

Just what can we do to generate loyalty?
Find common ground
Share your vision
Compensate adequately
-respect
-value others
-listen to them
-give extravagantly
-recognize and reward often
Challenge others to be their best
Sacrifice freely

Socially:
Great after church lunch at O'Charley's followed by a play at the local theatre.

We continue to build community and character.

Thanks to Chip Brown for the photos

Joshua_chapter seven

I. Sin is a serious thing
II. How is sin viewed?
A. The world's view
B. God's view-no change
III. The sin of Achan
IV. What is federal headship and corporate solidarity?
V. Was the punishment too harsh?
A. New endeavor, zero tolerance for sin
B. Similar situation of Ananias and Sapphira in NT
C. Sin compounds like good deeds...rule of 72 financial wealth
VI. Our sin affects others

The central theme of today's lesson is that our individual sin affects the lives of others from generation to generation. A pregnant mother on crack cocaine delivers a baby with an addiction. Lazy parents deny their children adequate food, shelter, and emotional security. We do nothing in a vacuum.

What we do in moderation
Our children do in excess.
